In Moscow, polyclinics were saving on covid tests due to a shortage, but some of them overdid it. Now they are running out of expiration dates – so patients with SARS will again be massively tested for coronavirus.

This autumn from Moscow hospitals demanded less likely to diagnose ARVI in patients so as not to take tests for coronavirus from them. According to Baza’s sources, this was due to a shortage of PCR tests, since they stopped importing reagents for their production to Russia.

However, this approach led to an unexpected result. For example, in the children’s city polyclinic No. 110. On the contrary, due to austerity, there are too many PCR tests left, and their expiration date is as early as December. Therefore, the management of the clinic has a new requirement. Now doctors must test all children diagnosed with SARS for coronavirus.

According to sources, other metropolitan institutions are now facing a similar situation. However, their expiration dates for PCR tests will not come out soon, so they decided not to return to the general check for covid.
