Vasily Brovko was interrogated in the case of extortion of 11 million from Sergei Chemezov. The Director for Special Assignments of Rostec and the husband of Tina Kandelaki is now in the status of a witness. “Baza” became aware of the details of the interrogation.
1. According to Brovko’s testimony, it was he who, on the evening of October 22, was the first to discover a post mentioning the head of Rostec Chemezov at the birthday party of billionaire Bokarev in the Moscow region. According to Brovko, he immediately let his boss know about this and Chemezov told him that “this article contains information of a negative nature, discrediting him as the head of Rostec, which could harm his rights, since it is posted in the public domain.”
2. It was Chemezov, as follows from the interrogation, who instructed Brovko to “deal with this situation”, contact representatives of the telegram channel “Extinguish the Light” and “ask them to delete this article.” Brovko delegated this issue to A. Baldukhaev, since it was Baldukhaev who was responsible for “organizing the security” of the birthday celebration. According to Brovko, Baldukhaev should have demanded that the representatives of “Extinguish the Light” remove the post and no longer post information “discrediting Chemezov.”
3. A day later, judging by the protocol of interrogation, Baldukhaev stated that he had contacted some representatives of Put Out the Light, who asked for 10 million for an annual block for negative information about Chemezov. And another 1 million rubles for deleting the post.
4. According to Brovko, Chemezov decided that negative information would continue to be published, and since the representatives of Put Out the Light “have information about his (Chemezov’s) whereabouts, this can cause direct harm to his life and health, if the offenders make a decision physical and violent measures against Chemezov, in order to influence the activities of the Rostec State Corporation.
5. Brovko instructed Baldukhaev to bring down the price to 500 thousand rubles. On October 23, Baldukhaev told Brovko that he had lowered the price for deleting a post from 1 million to 800,000 rubles in a telephone conversation. On the same day, Chemezov handed over 800 thousand Brovko, wrote a statement and instructed his director for special assignments to transfer the statement to the police. 6. With whom exactly the discussion was held and to whom the money should have been transferred, Brovko did not say during the interrogation. However, on October 24, when transferring 800 thousand rubles, the commercial director of Ksenia Sobchak, Kirill Sukhanov, was detained in the restaurant. Later, two journalists were detained in the same case: the editor-in-chief of “Extinguish the Light” Arian Romanovsky and the channel’s administrator, Tamerlan Bigaev.
Earlier “Base” published interrogation of Kirill Sukhanovand also reported that Ksenia Sobchak handed over the invoice on Bokarev’s birthday to journalists.
The journalists’ lawyers believe that the deleted post contained no information compromising Chemezov. In addition, Romanovsky and Bigaev had nothing to do with financial matters. And when posting carried out the instructions of Ksenia Sobchak and her authorized representative – Kirill Sukhanov.
