Xi Jinping told Biden the need to work with all countries to bring hope for peace and confidence in global stability.
He said he was ready to hold honest talks on strategic bilateral issues and discuss the regional and global situation.
And Biden said he and Xi have a responsibility to show that the US and China can overcome differences and prevent competition from escalating into conflict.
According to him, the world expects the US and China to play a key role in solving global problems.
