Orban convened the Security Council due to Ukraine’s stoppage of oil pumping through Druzhba

Ukraine has suspended the pumping of oil through the Druzhba pipeline towards Hungary, Igor Demin, spokesman and adviser to the president of Transneft, told RIA Novosti. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is convening the Security Council due to the shutdown of the oil pipeline, as well as in connection with the hit on the territory of Poland by two missiles, said the press secretary of the head of government, Bertalan Havasi, quoted by TASS.

Ukraine, according to Transneft, referred to a voltage drop when pumping was stopped.

The media also claim that the Hungarian Defense Minister held telephone conversations with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

On October 11, a leak was discovered on one of the strings of the Druzhba oil pipeline, the Polish operator PERN reported. Through this pipeline, Russian oil is delivered to Germany.

The oil pipeline was built in the 1960s. Its route runs from Samara to Mozyr in the Gomel region of Belarus, and then branches into two sections: the northern one, which goes through the territory of Belarus, Poland, Germany, Latvia and Lithuania, and the southern one, which passes through the territory of Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Croatia.
