The Polytechnic University of Catalonia withdrew from the exhibition the photographs of the Ukrainian soldier, fighter of the Azov regiment, defender of Azovstal Dmitry Kozatsky (Orest). The Ukrainian blogger Anatoly Shariy demanded to cancel the display of his works, who urged people to massively complain about the exhibition.
On November 13, the university released a statement saying that the papers had been withdrawn and that the university "was not aware of the author's ideology."
“The university radically rejects Nazism and deplores the situation,” it said in a statement.
Dmitry Kozatsky with the call sign Orest is also known as “The Eyes of Azovstal”. He is the author of most of the photographs from the plant defending itself from Russian attacks, his work was published in many world media. From his photographs and videos, one could learn about what was happening in the besieged plant from the inside, from a direct participant in the events. He recorded both the feat of the Ukrainian defenders and the Russian war crime in Mariupol.
In May 2022, he published the last photos and wrote that he was preparing to surrender. "OK it's all over Now. Thank you for the shelter, Azovstal, the place of my death and my life, ”wrote Orest. He also asked to send his work to competitions. Orest was able to return to Ukraine in September, he became one of those who were exchanged for Putin's godfather Viktor Medvedchuk.
