Deputy head of the occupation administration of the Kherson region detained in the case of an economic crime – TASS

The deputy head of the occupation administration of the Kherson region, Ekaterina Gubareva, was detained by the Ministry of Internal Affairs “in the case of an economic crime,” TASS reports with reference to law enforcement agencies.

“Ekaterina Gubareva was detained as part of a criminal case, investigative actions are now being carried out with her,” the source said.

RIA Novosti clarifies that the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kherson region does not officially confirm or refute the detention of Gubareva.

Earlier, the official's husband, Pavel Gubarev, stated that she was missing. “Yesterday around 4:30 pm, my wife Ekaterina Gubareva disappeared, she has not been in touch since then. The last place where she was seen was the building of the government of the Kherson region in Genichesk. Attempts to get through to [Russian-appointed acting regional governor Vladimir] Saldo to find out the whereabouts of Ekaterina have so far been unsuccessful,” he wrote.

Gubareva was appointed deputy head of the Russian "government" of the Kherson region in the summer of 2022. Pavel Gubarev is a former "people's governor" of Donbass and one of the leaders of Novorossiya.
