In November, 6 journalists and political activists from Russia were not allowed into Georgia. “Agency”, referring to the director of the Free Russia Foundation in the South Caucasus, Yegor Kuropteva, reports that among them are the journalist of the Project Ekaterina Arenina, the activist of Pussy Riot Nika Nikulshina and the editorial manager of Mediazona Gala Latygovskaya.

Arenina was not allowed in today, having given her a standard refusal of entry with justification in the form of “other reasons”. Nikulshina was denied entry on 1 November. Latygovskaya – the second. At the same time, she was not given any document, but was simply put on a plane to Turkey, from where she flew to Georgia.

Three people wished to remain anonymous. Refusals were issued to people who have been living in the country for a long time and have long-term lease agreements. Egor Kuroptev calls the country’s authorities should pay attention to the refusals, since people who were not allowed to go home do not pose any threat to Georgia.
