Ukraine’s air defense system tried to intercept a missile near the site of the incident in Pszewoduv around the same time the incident occurred – CNN, citing an anonymous US official.
The interception was reported by the Ukrainian military, and it was this information that formed the basis of Washington’s assessment of the situation.
