Qatar bribed eight Ecuadorian footballers to lose their team in the opening match of the World Cup (November 20), said Amjad Tah, regional head of the British Center for Middle East Studies.
According to him, the World Cup host country paid $7.4 million to the Ecuadorians. He added that five sources from Qatar and Ecuador confirmed this. There is no official reaction to this scandal yet.
