Russians began to mitigate criminal penalties if they fought in Ukraine. Indulgence is shown even to those who have been repeatedly convicted, follows from the sentences studied by Nestka
Judges take into account participation in CBO as a mitigating circumstance. For example, for beating a policeman, Magomed Ramazanov, a former war participant from Dagestan, received only a month in a pre-trial detention center. And repeatedly convicted recidivist Akim Ogurtsov from the Leningrad Region was sentenced to a suspended sentence for another robbery.
The courts are also lenient towards potential participants in the special operation. The defendants at the hearings report their desire to volunteer in the war – and receive lenient punishments.
The deputies want to free violators in administrative cases from legal proceedings altogether for the duration of their participation in the war.
