The head of the Kazakh holding “Baiterek” (the key financial institution of the government of Kazakhstan) Kanat Sharlapaev renounced Russian citizenship – a corresponding decree. Sharlapaev was born in the Saratov region and had the citizenship of the Russian Federation by birthright. The reasons for the merchant’s refusal of Russian citizenship are unknown.
