The "head" of the annexed Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov , said that fortification work had begun on the peninsula to "protect" it.
At the same time, he stated that federal measures aimed at the defense of Crimea are sufficient to ensure its security. Why, in this case, start fortification work, Aksyonov did not explain. According to him, they "are aimed at guaranteeing the security of the Crimeans." Aksyonov also stressed that the main measures should be achieved "through activities carried out primarily in the Kherson region."
The Russian-occupied peninsula is regularly shelled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. So, on the night of November 16-17, the sounds of explosions were heard in Dzhankoy. One of the largest attacks took place on October 20: the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the port of Sevastopol with the help of 6-8 unmanned surface vehicles. The frigates "Admiral Grigorovich" and "Admiral Makarov", as well as the minesweeper "Ivan Golubets" came under fire.
