Metal band Sunburst’s song “Z Army”, released in 2016, was suddenly renamed today to “Yandex.Music” in Brodsky. Letter”.

The lyrics of the song were indeed based on Brodsky’s 1968 poem “Letter to General Z.”

At the same time, the musicians, whose title and introduction referred to the film about zombies “The Walking Dead”, took from Brodsky far from the most “discrediting the army” lines.

Yes, in original poem there is the following text that is missing from the song (its lyrics – see screenshot):

Our guns were buried barrels down,
the kernels are softened. Some buglers
extracting their pipes from
covers, like inveterate masturbators,
tear them up for days so that suddenly
they make sound.

Officers roam, despising charter,
in breeches and tunics of various colors.
Privates in the bushes on dry ground
betray each other shamefully
passion,
and blushes, lowering the crimson banner,
our bachelor sergeant.
