RF lost about 40% of tanks. This follows from calculations based on data from the Oryx analytical project and the Military Balance – 2022 reference book of the International Institute for Strategic Studies.

In February, the Russian Federation had 3417 tanks in service. To date, 1353 of them have been destroyed, damaged, abandoned or captured by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Most of the losses among the old modifications of tanks are T-72B and T-80BV. This list includes destroyed pieces of equipment with visual (photo or video) confirmation posted in open sources.

Ukrainian losses, according to Oryx, amounted to 370 tanks. Analysts note that the new tanks that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are equipped with have better survivability on the battlefield.

At the same time, small arms, ATGMs, MANPADS, loitering ammunition, unmanned aerial vehicles, civilian vehicles, trailers and obsolete equipment are not included in this list.
