Theater in Novosibirsk canceled a children’s performance after a denunciation of “LGBT propaganda”

The Novosibirsk "First Theater" canceled the children's play "The Princess and the Ogre" due to "LGBT propaganda".

The group of the institution itself says that the cancellation of the performance, scheduled for November 20, occurred "due to technical problems." However, earlier the director of the production, Polina Kardymon , wrote that the audience of the theater wrote a denunciation of the performance due to the fact that a man with a mustache plays the princess in it. After that, the Ministry of Culture of the Novosibirsk Region assembled an ethical commission, and the incident "reached the governor."

“I highly recommend that the ethical commission read about the Greek theater in which men played female roles, read about travesty, remember that only male actors usually play Baba Yaga in the theater,” writes Kardymon.

Now Russia is preparing a law on a complete ban on “LGBT propaganda”. It differs little from the law prohibiting the justification of terrorism: the website of the State Duma reports that even those who approve of same-sex relationships will be punished. How the new law will change the lives of Russians, and what prohibitions it includes, read in The Insider.
