Vladimir Putin signed the law on the status of a combat veteran for volunteers participating in a "special operation". In addition, he exempted payments from taxation, which are provided to the participants of the "SVO".

What does combat veteran status mean?

Combat veterans are provided with a 50% compensation for hiring and maintaining a dwelling. This applies to residential building management services, maintenance and repair of common property in an apartment building, as well as capital repairs contribution.

Combat veterans are exempted from the need to pay property taxes (apartment, house, garage) – the benefit is provided only for one object of each type. Also, you do not have to pay land tax on six acres, the accrual starts from the excess of this area. There is also a transport tax exemption – its size depends on the region.

There are no special medical benefits. Only the right to service out of turn.

It is allowed to take annual leave, there is also the right to leave without pay for up to 35 days. Military veterans can receive additional vocational training and education at the expense of the employer.

War veterans are entitled to a monthly allowance of 3,481.85 rubles. They are also entitled to free travel, a ticket to a sanatorium and medicines. If these benefits are waived, the cash benefit can be increased. Pension for seniority, disability or loss of the breadwinner is increased by 32% of the size of the social pension.
