The death toll in a gas explosion in a residential building on Sakhalin rose to ten

The death toll from a gas explosion in a five-story building in the village of Tymovskoye on Sakhalin has grown to ten. This was reported to TASS in emergency services.

The families of the victims will be paid 1 million rubles each, and the victims and those left homeless – 500 thousand rubles each, said the Governor of the Sakhalin Region Valery Limarenko. Also, the regional authorities will purchase housing for the victims: first temporary, and then permanent.

The explosion in one of the apartments of a residential building occurred on November 19. At first, Limarenko wrote that the explosion of domestic gas was the cause of the incident, but a little later he added that the house was not gasified. Now the governor is again writing about the gas explosion, one of the latest reports says : “The territory of the house on Bibliotechnaya Street, 6a in Tymovsky, where the gas cylinder exploded, is now fenced, two police posts have been set up.”
