The head of the Federal Security and Anti-Corruption Project, former security official Vitaly Borodin, known for his complaints about journalists, denounced Russian blogger Danya Milokhin to the Prosecutor General's Office after he sang the Ukrainian anthem during a stream with Ukrainian Tiktoker Artur Babich. A copy of his letter addressed to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov was published by Life. Borodin himself reposted the news in his Telegram channel.
Borodin demands to recognize Milokhin as a "foreign agent" and deprive him of his citizenship.
“Milokhin has never been distinguished by principles, so his gesture towards Ukraine, made from the United States, does not surprise anyone. The young man is used to shocking the public with his behavior and statements, completely without thinking about their consequences.
According to Borodin, Milokhin in the Russian Federation was given great opportunities for development and earnings, but the blogger "made his choice by fleeing abroad."
At the same time, checking the microphone, Milokhin sang a fragment of the Russian anthem.
State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein told the Telegram channel Shot that he was sorry that Milokhin "is so ignominiously in control of his own destiny." Crimean Senator Sergei Tsekov, in turn, suggested that Milokhin might be a “descendant of a traitor” and called for them to stop mentioning him and take away all advertising contracts from him.
The director of the Safe Internet League, Yekaterina Mizulina, after Milokhin performed the Ukrainian anthem, said that in vain he was made the face of SPIEF in 2021: “He was set as an example for children. The bastard left for the United States and immediately spoke in Ukrainian, singing the anthem of Ukraine. Who will be responsible for this now? The fact that Milokhin sang the anthem of Russia, checking the microphone, none of the speakers probably knows.
Borodin is also known for his complaints about independent media. It was after Borodin's denunciation that the company associated with the "Project" was recognized as "undesirable". In the complaint, he wrote that the “Project” was allegedly “controlled by the US Congress”, received foreign grants, including from organizations recognized as “undesirable” in Russia, and also called the request of journalists for donations “blasphemous”.
In October, Olga Valeeva, the winner of the Mrs. Crimea 2022 contest, and her friend were prosecuted for performing the Ukrainian national song Chervona Kalina. In September, a restaurant was closed in Bakhchisarai, where the same song was played at a wedding. Then the head of Crimea, appointed by the Russian authorities, Sergei Aksyonov, promised to take away business and open criminal cases against those who sing Ukrainian songs in Crimea and support Ukraine.
