The Moscow 235th garrison military court sent an employee of the General Staff, Colonel Ivan Mertvishchev, under house arrest for two months for taking a bribe with a washing machine from the military commissar. Writes about this "Kommersant" with reference to sources.
According to them, Mertvishchev, as part of the autumn conscription campaign, was going to inspect the Joint Military Commissariat (OVK) of Ramenki. A week before the visit, he called the military commissar and warned that he would come with a check. At the same time, according to Kommersant's sources, he hinted that he was aware of the plight with the recruitment of conscripts and would definitely find something to complain about, even if there were no problems with the necessary documentation.
To prevent this from becoming a problem, Mertvishchev offered the military commissar to buy a washing machine worth at least 70,000 rubles for him. In response, the officer pretended to agree with such conditions, but filed a complaint about extortion with the FSB. Then the secret service officers bought a washing machine that would suit Mertvishchev, asked him to pick up the order and detained him upon receipt.
A criminal case was initiated against the colonel for taking a bribe coupled with extortion (part 5 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). He fully admitted his guilt.
