The SBU, in addition to “counterintelligence activities” in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, conducts searches in two monasteries and in the Sarny diocese of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the Rivne region in western Ukraine.
Two days earlier, it became known that the SBU had announced a suspicion to the Metropolitan from the Vinnytsia region, who was accused of being pro-Russian.
The rector of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra was previously included in the database of the scandalous Ukrainian website “Peacemaker”. And in the spring, the “synod” of the schismatic OCU announced the creation of a religious organization for which it wants to get one of the temples of the Lavra. The Ukrainian Orthodox Church believes that the OCU is trying to seize the Lavra by creating its own monastery there.
