❗️The Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church decided cook myrrh by yourself, in Kyiv. According to tradition, only the head of an independent church can cook chrism – although until 1917, chrism was brewed both in Moscow and in Kyiv within the framework of a single Russian church.
Miro is boiled once a year before Easter and then used for the sacrament of baptism. Myrrh is brought to Kyiv from Moscow.
In May, the Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church announced about its autonomy and independence.
