The UK will supply Ukraine with three Sea King helicopters for the first time as part of military assistance, one of which has already arrived in the country. This was announced by the head of the British Ministry of Defense Ben Wallace, his words are quoted by the BBC.
The UK will also send an additional 10,000 artillery shells, Wallace said. They will help the Ukrainian Armed Forces protect the recently liberated territory, the minister added.
Over the past six weeks, Ukrainian crews have been trained in Britain, including for search and rescue operations.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, during a visit to Kiev, said that the country would provide military assistance for 50 million pounds: the package includes 125 anti-aircraft guns and equipment to counter the drones supplied by Iran.
Earlier, the Israeli authorities allowed NATO countries to provide Ukraine with weapons containing Israeli-made components. Before that, the Swedish parliament approved the allocation of assistance to Ukraine for a record amount of $287 million, and Finland promised to send the 10th package of equipment and weapons for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the beginning of the war, this time for €55.6 million. Agreements on the allocation of additional assistance to Ukraine were signed after the fall of a rocket in Poland on November 15. Based on photo and video analysis, OSINT specialists claim that the wreckage looks like part of the engine of the Soviet S-300 missile. They are in service with Ukrainian air defense.
