In Japan, the scandal surrounding Prime Minister Kishida. Local publications published material that during his election campaign, part of the checks issued for expenses did not contain the name of the recipient and did not indicate the purpose of the payment.
Such violations in Japan are against the electoral law. The prime minister himself did not actually comment on the situation and said that he was clarifying the information.
All this is happening against the backdrop of a record low popularity of the Kishida government – according to the latest polls, its rating has fallen to 27.7%.
