On the night of November 23, Russia continued shelling Ukrainian territories. In the city of Volnyansk, Zaporozhye region, a maternity ward of a hospital was destroyed as a result of a missile strike, and a baby was killed. This was announced by the head of the Zaporozhye Regional Military Administration (OVA) Oleksandr Starukh.
The State Service for Emergency Situations (GSChS) of Ukraine also reports one dead baby. A video was posted on the social networks of the service, in which rescuers cleared the rubble and took out a doctor who was presumably under the rubble.
“On the night of November 23, in the city of Volnyansk, Zaporozhye region, as a result of a missile attack on the territory of a local hospital, a two-story building of a polyclinic maternity ward was destroyed. Currently, there was one woman in labor with a newborn child, as well as a doctor in the department. As a result of the attack, a baby born in 2022 died, a woman and a doctor were rescued by the State Emergency Service from under the rubble of the building.
According to preliminary information, there is no one else under the rubble.
The head of the Kharkiv OVA, Oleg Sinegubov, also reported on the shelling of the region on the night of November 23. At about 07:40, shelling of Kupyansk took place, as a result, a nine-story residential building and a polyclinic building were damaged. Two people died: a 55-year-old woman and a 68-year-old man, one person was hospitalized, another was treated on the spot.
Kyrylo Tymoshenko, deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, also speaks about the shelling of Kupyansk and two dead passers-by. He claims that a residential building and a polyclinic were under attack, and a school was also destroyed.
Earlier, Russia continued shelling the right-bank part of the Kherson region and directly Kherson, on November 21, explosions were heard in the city. Yury Sobolevsky, the first deputy chairman of the regional council, reported that attacks on civilian infrastructure were again recorded, and civilians were injured. He did not specify the number of wounded.
