Electronic Arts completely left Russia – Izvestia

The American company Electronic Arts, engaged in the development of video games, completely left Russia. This is reported by Izvestia, citing sources.

According to a former employee of the company involved in the promotion of EA in Russia, all marketing activities of the developer related to the CIS countries were transferred to Poland. In May, the company published a report in which it suggested that it would not return to the Russian market until at least April 2023.

Interlocutors of Izvestia claim that with the departure of EA, users will have problems communicating with support. For example, if a customer has already purchased a game from EA, the company's official representatives will not be able to help with its setup. In addition, users will lose in-game bonuses.

Another problem that Russian players may face is the lack of translation into Russian. Gaming blogger Denis Rusakov told Izvestia that he is no longer in two future EA games – Need For Speed Unbound and Wild Hearts. The Russian language is not declared in them even in the form of subtitles.

After Putin unleashed a war against Ukraine, the world's largest companies left Russia one after another. In total, according to Yale University, more than 1,000 companies have closed their business in Russia.
