The leader of the “Council of Mothers and Wives” denies plans to arrange a gathering of relatives mobilized on Red Square
The “Council of Mothers and Wives” does not plan to hold an action on November 27 on Red Square. The head of the movement, Olga Tsukanova, spoke about this to Layout, commenting on the information that 80 relatives of those mobilized from the Kuban are going to Moscow and will seek a meeting with Putin.
“This is not the Council of Mothers and Wives. This is a provocation and a response from the authorities. This is an unauthorized action, these are huge fines and arrests. You can’t just bring an organized group to Red Square, people won’t reach the station if they really do it themselves. Plus, they also call women from other cities. This is clearly a response to what we said there would be pocket mothers. This is not us at all, this is a frank drain, a provocation and a set-up, this is a violation of the law – to organize like that ”, – Tsukanova said, adding that she did not know women who decided to go to Moscow from the Krasnodar Territory.
The fact that relatives of the military from the Kuban, who introduced themselves as the Krasnodar branch of the “Council of Mothers and Wives”, decided to organize a rally on Red Square informed channel “We can explain.”
Tsukanova herself claims that they do not have regional branches, but only “councils”. During the council’s press conference on November 21, Tsukanova spokethat anyone can join the organization, in general, “all the mothers of Russia.” At the same time, the head of the council told Layout that the movement currently has no legal entities.
Earlier, the Kremlin confirmed preparations for a meeting between Putin and the mothers of servicemen. Representatives of the “Council of Mothers and Wives” were not invited to the event, and the activists of the movement, according to them, were followed by representatives of the special services.
