The Ministry of Culture banned the screening of the series “Monastery” in Russia with Anastasia Ivleeva in the title role, accusing him of insulting the feelings of believers.
The Ministry of Culture also submitted the series for evaluation to the Russian Orthodox Church, where they stated that “the script gives a distorted idea of monastic life in the convents of the Russian Orthodox Church, and accordingly, forms an incorrect idea of Russian Orthodoxy.”
