Police officers beat five detainees in Moscow’s “Open Space”

In Moscow, the police beat five detainees in the "Open Space", where an evening of support for the defendants in the "Tyumen case" was held. One of them told OVD-Info about this.

The beatings took place at the police station in the Basmanny district. The girl told OVD-Info that the security forces hit her when she was lying on the floor. They beat one of the detainees with a truncheon and a book, and pushed another one into a chair and started kicking him. Also, the police beat a guy named Kirill. He was found wearing a balaclava, an emergency hammer and a traumatic pistol. The interlocutor of OVD-Info stressed that Kirill had permission to wear it.

The police also dragged SOTAvision journalist Ksenia Tamurka by the hair because she refused to unlock the phone on which the search was filmed. The security forces held her by the hair and tried to point her face at the phone camera. SOTAvision writes about this with reference to Bella, an employee of Open Space, who was released earlier than the others.

All detainees in the "Open Space" were released from the police department. The policemen took explanations from them.
