The Ministry of Justice declared Andrei Makarevich a “foreign agent” because of an interview with Dmitry Gordon
The interview was recorded before Gordon himself was declared a “foreign agent”.
Foreign funding from Makarevich was not found.
However, how informs Pavel Chikov, with reference to the lawyer Alexander Peredruk, Zamoskvoretsky court refused Makarevich to challenge the status of “foreign agent”. The interview was billed as a “foreign influence” on the musician.
