Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei dies

Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei has died. The Belarusian edition of Belta writes about this.

“The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, died suddenly,” Anatoly Glaz, press secretary of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, said in a statement. The causes of death were not specified.

From 2000 to 2008, Makei worked as an assistant to the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. In 2008-2012, he was the head of the Administration of the President of the Republic. On August 20, 2012, he was appointed to the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Makei was 64 years old.
