Dozens of people were detained, local media write. At that time, Internet and mobile communications became unavailable in Astana. Connection was restored after 20:00, but internet is reported to be intermittent.

Videos of detentions appeared on social networks near the territory of the former MEGA shopping and entertainment center, where a group of people tried to march towards the center.

The media suggest that supporters of businessman Marat Abiyev, who is called the founder of the Architects of the Future project, were detained. According to Vlast , the city police have not yet answered questions about the reasons for the detention and the number of detainees. In the spring, Abiyev's supporters already tried to get to Astana, but buses with them were blocked in different regions.
