The Ministry of Culture refused to issue a rental license to the series “Monastery” – on this occasion, we watched this hit of “Kinopoisk”.

And they were left somewhat confused.

Firstly, an online series does not need a rental certificate for offline: unless it was going to be shown in cinemas.

Secondly, the series was filmed in real monasteries – and hardly without the knowledge of the Russian Orthodox Church, which allegedly “expertly” was indignant at the insult in the tape of the feelings of believers.

And thirdly, the series is simply bad: the wooden game of Anastasia Ivleeva, coupled with a mediocre script, offends the feelings of believers in Stanislavsky’s theory.

Even the lesbian scene does not save the film, although the authors clearly relied on it.

Read more about how the scandalous tape works – read in our review.
