In 2022, paid parking brought Moscow prefectures and councils more than 8.6 billion rubles. This money was redirected to landscaping.
According to Maxim Liksutov, deputy mayor in the Moscow government on transport issues, the money collected from paid parking was received in advance in 125 districts of Moscow. At the same time, their inhabitants had to decide for themselves what officials should build.
So, for example, equipped sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, trees and parking pockets have already appeared on the streets and in the yards. In addition, children’s and sports grounds were built with new receipts in some areas.
