The prosecutor requested a life sentence for Timur Bekmansurov, who arranged the shooting at Perm University: the first five years in prison, and the remaining term in a special regime correctional colony. It is reported by "Kommersant".
On September 20, 2021, 18-year-old Timur Bekmansurov opened fire on the territory of Perm University. Six people died and more than 20 were injured.
Bekmansurov was detained by a traffic police officer who wounded him with a service weapon. Because of the injury, Bekmansurov's leg was amputated, he received the third group of disability.
At the trial, Bekmansurov fully admitted his guilt and repented, he also admitted all claims for compensation for material and moral damage. From the testimony of Bekmansurov it follows that he had suicidal thoughts, but could not decide to commit suicide, so he arranged a mass shooting in the hope that he would be killed during his detention.
