The son of the governor of Uss was sent under house arrest in Italy

A court in Milan released under house arrest the son of the governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Artem Uss, who is accused in the United States of money laundering and circumventing sanctions. This writes the Italian edition of Prealpina.

According to the newspaper, a court session is soon to be held to decide on the extradition of Artem Uss from Italy to the United States (however, the exact timing of the process is not specified).

Artem Uss was arrested in Italy at the request of the United States on 10 October. The US Department of Justice accuses him of smuggling oil, exporting military technology from the US and money laundering. The defendant refuses to be extradited to the United States and does not admit guilt. At the trial, he said that he had never been to New York, and the last time he visited the United States was 25 years ago at the age of 14.

Russia also demands the extradition of Artem Uss. He has been charged with money laundering on an especially large scale by an organized group. The Meshchansky Court issued a warrant for his arrest in absentia. In this way, Russia may try to disrupt the extradition of Uss to the United States, as was the case in the past with Vladislav Klyushin, who was arrested in the United States and led the development of the Katyusha media and social media monitoring system for the Russian Presidential Administration and the government.

Artem Uss is the founder of the Sibugol company, which receives government contracts for the supply of coal. Oppositionist Alexei Navalny's team found luxury real estate worth 1.5 billion rubles from Artyom's father, Governor Alexander Uss.
