Dobrynya Nazgulych. The newest Almaz-Antey drone turned out to be a product from a Chinese online store

The Kremlin media are talking about the next achievement of the Almaz-Antey concern – the creation of a domestic import-substituting quadrocopter. NTV reports :

“In St. Petersburg, at the Obukhov plant, they began to produce Dobrynya drones made from Russian components.

It took the specialists of the Almaz-Antey Concern just four months to launch the mass production of quadrocopters practically from scratch. In Russia, they were produced before, but in St. Petersburg they created production exclusively from domestic components – from bolts and cogs to software.

The name of the drone was picked up fabulous in the truest sense of the word – "Dobrynya". In the Old Slavonic language it means daring, in Old Russian it means the best. Judging by the technical characteristics, both options are suitable.

The copter control range is up to five kilometers, the flight altitude is three kilometers, and the speed is more than 120 kilometers per hour. But the main thing is that it will function where there is no Internet at all. Everything will depend on the tasks.

In general, the scope of "Dobrynya" is unusually wide: sports, geo-prospecting of the area, delivery of medicines to hard-to-reach places. In this case, the weather factor will not matter. It is possible to fly in the rain and in cold weather.

By the end of the year, more than a thousand copies of Dobrynya will be produced. And now the tests of his older brother, a larger drone with advanced functionality, are being completed. He was given the same fabulous name – "Gorynych".

Channel 5 correspondent Maxim Oberlender is a little less categorical: he states that "the namesake of the Russian hero is assembled almost entirely from domestic components." And this is “almost” clearly visible in the frame: the operator controls the Dobrynya using the Chinese RadioMaster TX12 remote control .

The domestic drone itself suspiciously resembles the Chinese quadrocopter iFlight Nazgul5 Evoque , from which it differs only in a streamlined cap screwed on top with the Dobrynya logo.

The plot of Channel 5 first says that Dobrynya accelerates to 120 km / h, but then a designer from Almaz-Antey appears in the frame and declares that the speed of the device, depending on the load, can reach 150-180 km / h. This matches the specifications of Nazgul5 : there is a video on the net showing how a Chinese drone is accelerated to 174 km/h.

But what kind of load the designer is talking about is not entirely clear. Nazgul5 belongs to the class of racing drones, it is not designed for the delivery of goods, although correspondents from NTV and Channel 5 claim the opposite. Moreover, this sports device is generally of little use for any practical tasks: it has a low-resolution camera (720p, less than most modern TVs) and no return system in case of a connection break. But the Channel 5 correspondent claims that "such characteristics can be useful in the conditions of a special military operation." Especially, apparently, an unencrypted signal.

And here is the highlight of his report:

"Dobrynya costs only 130,000 rubles – two times cheaper than foreign competitors of this class."

iFlight Nazgul5 Evoque in the Chinese online store costs € 605.72 – at the official exchange rate on November 29, 38,179 rubles. True, there it is sold without a remote control and a battery. The remote shown in the video costs €104.16, and the battery for this quadcopter model costs €54.95 (there are, however, cheaper models with a smaller capacity). Together with them, everything will cost 48,207 rubles. The rest, apparently, is the profit of Almaz-Antey.

The promising development of Almaz-Antey – the Gorynych hexacopter with a payload capacity of up to 10 kg – is also a rather peculiar case of import substitution. On the blades of its propellers, you can see the logo of the Chinese brand Havoc , which the import deputies from Almaz-Antey were even too lazy to cover up.
