Ridero has asked authors to check their books for violations of the “LGBT propaganda” law, even though it hasn’t gone into effect yet.

Ridero, a service that allows you to prepare books for publication on your own, sent a letter to authors asking them to check their books for violations of the law prohibiting “LGBT propaganda”. Copies of the documents were published by journalists Georgy Urushadze and Oleg Kashin.

“We care about you, so we highly recommend checking out your book. If the text, cover, illustrations or imprint contain information that can be considered related to non-traditional sexual relations, then the book must be removed from publication, ”Ridero writes to the authors.

The service also lists topics that should not appear in the text of the book, abstracts, illustrations, cover or imprint: “Information about the attractiveness of non-traditional sexual relationships or preferences; information that forms a distorted idea of the social equivalence of traditional and non-traditional sexual relations; gender reassignment information. If these topics are present in the book, it must be removed from publication within five days.

It is noteworthy that the law on the complete ban on "LGBT propaganda" has not yet come into force. According to it, the promotion of "non-traditional sexual relations" and / or preferences, expressed in the dissemination of information or the commission of public actions aimed at the formation of "non-traditional sexual attitudes", will be punished by imprisonment for up to one year if the person already has an administrative penalty under the same article.
