Lawyer Ilya Novikov, who defended Nadezhda Savchenko, Oyub Titiev and Ukrainian sailors, was put on the federal wanted list. Information “Layout” found in the database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The department indicates that Novikov is “wanted under the article of the Criminal Code.” What exactly is at stake, the Ministry of Internal Affairs does not specify. On November 25, the lawyer was included in the register of “individuals-foreign agents” for carrying out political activities. “Foreign source” in the register is Ukraine.
Previously, Novikov defended Ukrainians in court – a soldier Nadezhda Savchenko and sailors who were arrested by Russian border guards. In 2021, he moved to Kyiv, and after the start of the war, he joined the local defense.
