In Russia, since December 1, tariffs for housing and communal services have increased – this is the second increase in a year. The maximum level of indexation for gas, electricity, water and heat supply for the entire country will be 9%.
Typically, housing and communal services tariffs are indexed once a year in July, and the maximum levels of indexation were different for different regions. On average, tariffs increased by 4% in July 2022. According to Rosstat, prices for electricity rose by 4.6%, hot water and heating – by 4.1%, cold water – by 4%, gas – by 4.8%.
This year, only one tariff indexation was to take place, the next one was scheduled for July 2023. But it was postponed to December 2022. The Ministry of Economic Development explained this by the need to "renew heating mains, water pipes and other facilities." The postponement, according to the statement, is necessary in order to "maintain the provision of high-quality housing and communal services for the population."
Officials promise that tariffs will allegedly not be indexed next year. That is, the next increase is scheduled for July 2024.
With the current indexation, the average monthly payment for one family of three will increase by 324 rubles.
