Journalist Nailya Mullaeva was detained in Kazan. In the morning, she was searched in the case of “justifying terrorism”

Journalist Nailya Mullaeva was detained in Kazan. She herself told The Insider about this.

Mullaeva was taken to the Yapeyevo police station. According to the journalist, they are going to draw up a protocol against her under article 20.2, part 8 (Repeated violation of the established procedure for organizing or holding a meeting, rally, demonstration, procession or picketing). We are talking about a rally against mobilization, which she covered by assignment back in September. Then she was detained.

A lawyer from OVD Info is not allowed to see the journalist.

In the morning, her parents' apartment was searched as part of the "case to justify terrorism" under Art. 205.2 part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The reason for initiating the case was a video on one of the YouTube channels about the attack on the Russian ambassador in Poland. The status of the journalist is unknown.

During the search, she was not in the apartment. Mullaeva lives in Riga and came to Kazan for a few days.

Russian Ambassador to Warsaw Sergei Andreev was doused with paint while laying flowers at the cemetery of Soviet soldiers. After the video of the incident went viral on social media, several searches were carried out in Kazan in the case of “justifying terrorism.” On August 17, the security forces came to the journalists associated with Radio Liberty. In September, in connection with the same case, searches were carried out at the home of Dmitry Pervukhin, coordinator of the Association of Observers of Tatarstan, member of Yabloko, and Syldys Sunduy-ool, a participant in the anti-war rally.
