Germany wants to exclude Russia from the European Free Electron Laser XFEL project, Mikhail Kovalchuk, president of the Kurchatov Institute, said.
According to him, the Russian representative is not allowed to attend the meeting of the XFEL council, and Berlin also demands the exclusion of Russian scientists, and does not allow them to be published.
Kovalchuk noted that “Slovaks, Swedes – all jumping dancers, they understand that as soon as we leave the project, they need to pay this money, but they don’t have it.”
The amount of Russian contributions is about 40 million euros per year, Moscow covers more than 25% of the project costs.
