Minister of Defense of Latvia Artis Pabriks declared about the alleged beginning of the process of depriving Dozhd of the opportunity to work in Latvia, and the termination of the residence permit of the TV channel employees.
The well-known right-wing politician did not explain the sources of his information.
His statement was made against the background of the phrases of the leading TV channel Alexei Korostelev about “our army” in relation to the army of the Russian Federation and the alleged help of the TV channel in equipping the Russian mobilized (improving their living conditions).
After these remarks, Korostelev was fired, and the Latvian analogue of Roskomnadzor imposed a fine of 10 thousand euros on the TV channel itself: the map shown on the air with Crimea as part of Russia also served as a pretext.
Note that Pabriks is a member of the outgoing cabinet of ministers and will not enter the new government.
