Section in modern school textbooks to be devoted to topic of war in Ukraine – Ministry of Education

The theme of the war in Ukraine will be devoted to a section in modern school history textbooks, Russian Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov said .

According to him, new unified programs have already been signed, "they contain the theme of a special operation."

After the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, teachers in Russian schools began to be sent manuals with lesson plans on the topic of the war in Ukraine. They justify the need for a "military operation" against the "fascist state" and have ready-made answers to possible questions from schoolchildren, in the spirit of Maria Zakharova and Margarita Simonyan.

In the work chats of some schools, teachers were directly forbidden to communicate with children about the war. In other schools they are allowed, but only for those who support Putin's actions. Read more about how the teachers themselves reacted to this in The Insider.

In the summer, the Federation Council asked the chairman of the Russian Historical Society (and the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service) Sergei Naryshkin to check the history textbooks. The senators explained this request as "a matter of national security."
