The Dozhd TV channel fired an employee who let slip on the air about supporting Russian soldiers in Ukraine.
On December 1, on the air of the Here and Now program, host Alexei Korostelev asked viewers to share information about problems in the Russian army and send messages to the channel’s telegram bot. Korostelev said that in this way it would be possible to try to help the servicemen.
“We hope that we were able to help many military personnel, including, for example, with equipment and with simply basic amenities at the front”.
After such a statement, the editor-in-chief of the channel had to apologize for the words of the journalist. Tikhon Dzyadko said that Dozhd is not involved in helping to equip the Russian army. However, the apology was not enough.
Today, on the air of the rain, they announced that Alexei Korostelev was fired. “This is a very difficult decision for us, but Dozhd’s leadership considers it the only true and possible one,” journalist Yekaterina Kotrikadze said on the air of Dozhd.
