The European Commissioner for the Internal Market, Thierry Breton, refused to go to the US-EU Trade and Technology Summit in the States, because this meeting does not pay enough attention to European problems.
The reason for the refusal was the fact that the American law to reduce inflation (causing discontent in Europe) was turned from the main item on the agenda into “a topic of discussion at a 45-minute lunch.”
