Embassies of Ukraine in Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, Croatia, Italy, Austria, as well as Ukrainian consulates in Naples, Krakow and Brno received packages containing animal eyes. This was announced by the speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Nikolenko.
“After the terrorist attack in Spain, the embassies in Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, Croatia, Italy, Austria, the consulates general in Naples and Krakow, and the consulate in Brno received bloody packages. The bundles contained the eyes of animals. The bags themselves were soaked in a liquid of a characteristic color and had a corresponding smell. We are studying the meaning of this message,” he writes on his Facebook.
In addition, according to Nikolenko, vandals damaged the entrance to the apartment of the Ukrainian ambassador in the Vatican, and the Ukrainian embassy in Kazakhstan received a false report about mining, which was subsequently not confirmed. Also, a suspicious letter arrived at the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States – it contained a photocopy of an article that criticized Ukraine.
The terrorist attack that Nikolenko mentions took place on November 30 in Madrid. The Ukrainian embassy received a letter containing a small explosive device. It detonated, as a result of which one embassy employee was slightly injured.
