The prosecutor requested 9 years in a penal colony for Ilya Yashin for streaming about Bucha. This is reported by the correspondent of "Mediazona" from the courtroom.
The prosecution also asks to ban the politician from using the Internet for another four years after serving his term.
Excerpt from the prosecutor's speech at the trial:
“… Yashin, guided by the motive of political hatred, reported false information about the actions of the RF Armed Forces in the city of Bucha. The prosecution considers his guilt fully proven, as evidenced by the linguistic expertise and testimonies of witnesses… The [UN, OSCE, Human Rights Watch] reports have no legal force, as they were prepared by unfriendly countries. They kept silent and did not notice the conflicts in Libya, the Donbass, Odessa, they covered the criminal regime of Stepan Bandera.”
In early October, Yashin was formally charged in a criminal case about "fake news" about the Russian army.
“Yashin I.V. dislikes the political system in Russia, denies the obvious need to ensure the security of the Russian Federation from external threats and suppress violations of the fundamental rights of citizens of the DPR and LPR, understands that he (Yashin I.V.) is a public figure, in connection with which his activities are of increased interest to an indefinite circle of people, and the personal statements made are perceived by them as reliable, ”the indictment says.
Yashin is charged with paragraph "d" part 2 of Art. 207.3 of the Criminal Code (dissemination of deliberately false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation) for the fact that on April 7, live on his YouTube channel, he talked about the crimes of the Russian army in Bucha.
