The SBU came with a search to the monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the Poltava region

The Security Service of Ukraine came with searches to the Transfiguration Monastery of the Poltava and Mirgorod eparchy of the UOC and the diocesan administration of the Kremenchug and Lubensk eparchy of the UOC.

“These measures are being taken, among other things, to exclude the use of religious communities as cells of the ‘Russian world’ and to protect the population from provocations and terrorist acts,” the SBU said in a statement.

Searches in churches and monasteries of the UOC are carried out almost daily throughout Ukraine. On November 22, the SBU carried out searches in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. The security service said that this is part of counterintelligence measures “as part of the SBU’s systemic work to counter the explosive activities of Russian special services in Ukraine,” which are carried out with the participation of the National Guard and the National Police.

Earlier, the SBU opened a criminal case to justify Russia's military aggression because of a song about "the awakening of Mother Russia." This happened after the UOC priest Yemelyan published a video on November 12, in which visitors to the temple of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra sing it.
