Natalya Sindeeva, CEO of the Dozhd TV channel, wrote down an appeal in which she asked the previously fired presenter Alexei Korostelev, as well as Vladimir Romensky and Margarita Lyutova, who left the channel as a sign of solidarity, to return to the channel. Also in the video, Sindeeva said that throughout the years of the channel’s existence, she fought to “remain a person in any situation, no matter what happens.”
“We fired Lyosha for a mistake. It was the worst thing we could have done in that situation. It was necessary to remove him from the ether, exhale. And all these four days I want to correct this mistake and say: "Lesh, I'm sorry." And sorry, our viewers, who, of course, see that we behaved in a fucking way. And, of course, many will not understand me, they will say – well, how can it be, the price of the issue of the entire TV channel is at stake, because the Ukrainians will not forgive us. And how can this TV channel continue to live, how can the TV channel go on in life, in the future, if we committed meanness against the person who is with us?
And yes, perhaps, after this statement, everything will collapse. And, perhaps, there will be no TV channel. But no one will need this shit, what values are we talking about all the time then? How can we be in front of our audience, which has always trusted us, how can we live with this? I dont know. It’s just that if I don’t do this now, there will be no TV channel, because I won’t be able to let go, shut myself up, I won’t be able to live with it. And the TV channel lived all this time for the only reason – it never fucked.
Therefore, Lyosh, Rit, Romensky – guys, return to the "Rain". It was a mistake, no malice. And the Ukrainians may not forgive us for this, but this is a mistake, and people make mistakes, but I can’t do this anymore. My dear colleagues, perhaps I am letting you down now, because you do not agree with this decision of mine. And you have every right to behave as you see fit. I can behave like this. I can’t do anything else, I want to remain a person, not shit.”
Recall, on December 6, it became known that Latvia was revoking the broadcasting license of the Dozhd TV channel. The reason is a reservation by TV presenter Alexei Korostelev, who uttered a phrase on the air about supplying the Russian mobilized, for which he was fired.
