In Kursk, due to a drone attack, an oil storage tank caught fire near the airfield. This was written on the morning of December 6 by the governor of the Kursk region Roman Starovoit in the Telegram channel.
“As a result of a drone attack, an oil storage tank caught fire in the area of the Kursk airfield. There were no casualties. The fire is localized. All intelligence agencies are on the ground."
We are talking about the Kursk (Vostochny) airport, which is a joint-based airfield: before the war, it was used by both military and civilian courts. Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Federal Air Transport Agency has been constantly extending the ban on flights to airports in the central and southern parts of Russia, including the Kursk airfield.
Video and photos of the fire broke out in the dark, as well as at dawn, were published on the network. Judging by the footage, by morning the fire had not yet been extinguished.
Today's drone attack is the third in the second day. The day before, two incidents were recognized at Russian airfields. On December 5, an explosion occurred at an aircraft parking lot at an airfield near Ryazan, three people died and nine were injured. RIA Novosti reported that a fuel truck exploded at the airfield. On the same morning, a drone crashed on the runway of the Engels airfield in the Saratov region, damaging two Tu-95 bombers.
